Imagine an immersive environment where a scorned ex invites others to collectively view a sexually explicit deepfake video of the girl who rejected him. Mark Cuban once pictured himself running a major corporation — until he started his first job out of college. The experience "sealed" something he probably already knew, Cuban told CNBC Make It via email: If he wanted to run a company, he'd likely have to build his own. "I was a lousy employee because I was a know-it-all," Cuban told Wired last year. But not every prospective entrepreneur is as successful as Cuban, who launched a software company called Microsolutions in 1983 and kept it afloat through some turbulent early years. CNN —YouTube and WWE star Logan Paul defeated MMA fighter Dillon Danis by disqualification in Saturday’s influencer boxing event at the AO Arena in Manchester, England. But the occasion descended into chaos afterwards as security piled into the ring to separate the two fighters while Paul himself clambered on top of the ropes and held his arm aloft in a victory salute. “He’s supposed to be good at jiu-jitsu, what happened?” Paul said afterwards, according to broadcaster DAZN. “I said from day one, there’ll never be another Tyson Fury, I’m just trying to be the best Tommy Fury I can be.”The high-profile double-header garnered huge interest online – the quartet have a combined following of over 17 million on X, formerly known as Twitter. Misfits Boxing, the promotors of the event, told CNN that general sale of the tickets sold out within an hour, with the whole night being sold out in a week.

There's usually a couple misfits or people that just aren't a part of the team, but we all were one. THE DEADLINE: Essays, by Jill LeporeIn 1636, at the height of the Dutch economic hysteria known as Tulipomania, John Harvard helped found the first college of the American colonies. It’s a good thing I do not have Jill Lepore’s job. The phrase “historical framework” is insufficient when it comes to Lepore, who also provides the picture and the glass. Through these figures Lepore covers American consumerism, literary biography, journalism, intellectual property law and other cultural curiosities. But it’s her inclinations toward misfits and old narratives we have taken for granted that make “The Deadline” glow.

‘The Bear’ and a Chaotic Vision of Work
  + stars: | 2023-07-02 | by ( Melissa Kirsch | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +2 min
Business leaders are resorting to desperate measures to entice workers back to the office, my colleague Emma Goldberg reported recently. “It’s been three years of scattershot plans for returning to in-person work — summoning people in, not really meaning it, everybody pretty much working wherever they pleased,” she wrote. One idea I haven’t seen floated is to offer screenings of the series “The Bear,” whose second season was released in June on Hulu. When it debuted last year, “The Bear” was praised for its authenticity, for depicting the chaos of a real restaurant kitchen. Hands are burned, fingers slashed; the pace of the prep rush turns the kitchen staff into sweating, shouting bodies, meat cooking meat.” Hardly a convincing argument for in-person work.

Trump’s legal defense strategy is now entirely fused with his electoral one. His bid to regain the White House is no longer a mere political campaign but has now become about self-preservation. If Trump becomes the 2024 GOP nominee, the cloud of criminality could linger over the election until November next year. This potentially could cause havoc with Trump’s political schedule. The salience of Trump’s grievance campaign could become even more relevant in a general election.
